Both original model curves, without an added strategy/cash mix. Risk uses 73 shared chart closes; intervening losses are omitted.

The ranking changed with 2026: Alpha led at the December 18, 2025 cutoff. MI leads at the October 21, 2026 cutoff.

MI is research with hindsight and a selected historical universe, including a reported 2026 continuation that has not been independently reconciled. It differs from today’s MI rules. These are model results, not subscriber-account returns.

MI modeled costs included; Alpha uses its published convention. Subscription fees and taxes excluded; execution costs are not fully harmonized. Alpha’s complete daily record was unavailable; sampled volatility does not establish equal daily or tail risk.

Method and earlier result

Unrounded native annualized returns: MI 43.8787%; Alpha 39.9096%. At matched sampled volatility, MI remains 100% strategy; Alpha becomes 87.1448% strategy plus 12.8552% BIL, rebalanced only at observed dates. The cash-mixed Alpha return is 35.2863% annualized, not Alpha’s advertised native return.

The cash weight is calibrated over the full comparison period and uses hindsight. It is an explanatory reconstruction, not a forward allocation recommendation. Long/short exposure, concentration, liquidity, borrowing and implementation differ.

July 1, 2022–December 18, 2025 native annualized returns: MI 36.67%; Alpha 45.26%. The latest shared 2026-only observations run January 12–October 21: MI +47.57%; Alpha +10.15%, before the added cash adjustment. That span is not calendar YTD.

Retained MI source ends October 22; the saved public Alpha chart ends October 23. October 21 is the latest verified common observation. MI’s actual daily maximum decline over the main period is 17.69%; the sampled 12.73% omits intervening losses. Alpha’s actual daily maximum decline is at least its observed 19.33%.

Sources: original MI website history and YTD records; Alpha Picks public chart captured October 27, 2026; reviewed BIL total-return data. All main comparison returns use the same start and end closes, with each record’s reinvestment convention. No daily Alpha prices were interpolated.

Alpha publishes a time-weighted model return with dividends reinvested. Its reference-price convention changed to volume-weighted average purchase/sale prices beginning July 31, 2024; earlier entries used opening prices and exits used closing prices. These are published model conventions, not verified subscriber fills.
